<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning conversion circuit that converts a video signal of interlaced scanning into a video signal of a sequential scanning and TV receiver provided with the scanning conversion circuit. SOLUTION: A hybrid form (MA MC interpolation) of interpolation processing between a motion adaptive type and motion compensation and a combination (HP MA interpolation) of interpolation processing between a vertical reinforcement signal and motion adaptive type are applied to a general image, and an interpolation processing by interpolation by a signal either of preceding/succeeding field (FM interpolation) is applied to a telecine image, and an interpolation signal series for missing interpolation scanning lines by interlaced scanning is generated by the optimum interpolation processing in response to a form of the video signal. Then the interpolation signal series for the interpolation scanning lines and a signal series of main scanning lines transmitted by interlaced scanning are used to generate a video signal for sequential scanning. Thus, the scanning conversion circuit and the television receiver in which a sense of nature being an indispensable physical factor for high image quality processing is preserved and a high quality image without a sense of incongruity from a still image to a dynamic image is reproduced are realized and the remarkable improvement effect for a high image quality television image is obtained.</p> |
