PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance detection sensitivity of angular velocity in an angular velocity detector by providing a corrective vibration generating means for correctively vibrating a vibrator in the direction of detection axis to restrict leaked vibration generated in the direction of the detection axis when no angular velocity is applied. SOLUTION: Vibration generating sections 33 and 33 and displacement detecting sections 34 and 34 are respectively arranged on the left and right of a vibrator 26 while corrective vibration generating sections 35 and 35 are arranged longitudinally. In a state where the vibrator 26 is caused to vibrate as indicated by the arrow (a) in the direction of X axis as axis of vibration, leaked vibration in the direction of the Y axis as detection axis as generated when no angular velocity Ω is applied about an axis to be detected is canceled by a corrective vibration generated by the corrective vibration generating section 35. This lowers the leaked vibration working on the vibrator 26 thereby achieving accurate detection of angular velocity Ω. |
