PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image-processing method and its device where spatial filter processing is applied to an n-bit multi-value image data, the processed data are converted into binary or multi-value image data, and the converted image data are converted into data expressable using dots providing a higher resolution that that of the converted image data. SOLUTION: Multi-value data, outputted from a scanner reading an image whose one pixel is expressed in n-bit are received by line buffers 201, 202, where the data are shifted in and stored. The line buffers 201, 202 are configured by using lower-order 8-bit and high-order 6-bit of a same address in a memory, and the multi-value data stored in the line buffers 201, 202 and the received multi-value image data are latched by a latch group 203, in which the data are executed for spatial filter processing through the multiplication in each 3×3 Laplacian filter matrix.
