DISK COPY PROTECTING METHOD, DISK READING MECHANISM AND DISK RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict a read inhibit range to only a part of the range as well as the whole part by means of a generally popularized write mechanism. SOLUTION: Erroneous data length information on a data to be an access object as different from the actual data length is recorded in a directory record 602 of the disk recording medium where a digital data is recorded in accordance with a prescribed format, while correct data length information which can be recognized only by a specified read mechansim is recorded in a specified recording position. The specified read mechanism is provided with a recognition mechanism for recognizing the specified position where the correct data length information is recorded.
