PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter circuit which has controlled short-circuit current, without the increase in the power loss and waveform distortion. SOLUTION: This circuit is structured in such a manner that a MOS transistor is bridge-connected between the positive/negative power supply and a load, and a DC voltage is converted to an AC voltage by driving on/off each MOS transistor in the predetermined repetition period. In this case, a gate load control circuit 1,... for controlling the charges of the gate terminal is inverted between the gate terminal of each MOS transistor 1,... and the terminal for inputting the drive signal to this gate terminal. The gate load control circuit 1 is composed of a drive waveform generating circuit 11 which generates a gate drive waveform, which is switched in a plurality of steps during transition to an from off state of the MOS transistor Q1 to supply to the gate terminal, a voltage-detecting circuit 12 for detecting a voltage of gate terminal and a switching control circuit 13 for controlling step switching of the drive waveform generating circuit 11, depending on the detected output of the voltage-detecting circuit 12. |
