PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the difference among the signal levels corresponding to odd- and even-numbered photoelectric conversion elements by performing the transfer of charges on the output detecting section side of a charge transferring path to an output detecting section by means of a transfer clock formed from another pulse train separately from the transfer clock of the charge transferring path. SOLUTION: The charges transferred to transfer gate sections 7 and 8 are successively transferred to an output gate section 9 by which odd- and even- numbered charges respectively separated to charge transferring sections 3 and 4 are arranged in the same arrangement in a light receiving section 2 and an output detecting section 10 composed of an output diffusion layer 26, a reset transistor 27, and an output circuit 28 performs voltage conversion on the charges. In this case, the transfer clockϕR required for the charge transfer on the output gate section 9 side in the transfer gate sections 7 and 8 is different from the transfer clocksϕ1 andϕ2 at the charge transferring paths 3 and 4 and formed from another pulse train.
