<p>The method involves attaching outer layers (13) to a cellular core made from expanded strips of material by applying adhesive to the edges of the strips. The outer layers are then pressed against them. Prior to expansion of the inner core two lengthwise groves (30) are made in its lateral edges, and these are used to guide the core during expansion. The adhesive is applied to the edges of the core strips before they are expanded, and once they are expanded the outer layers are applied to the adhesive-coated surfaces. After application of the outer layers the panels pass through pressing section (40), where the required pressure is applied to the panels' outer surfaces.</p> |
