PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lay a detection mark into detactable state only when required by forming the detection mark by use of a light transmitting recording material having a thermoplastic resin toner receiving layer which has a total light transmissivity in a specified range. SOLUTION: This image forming method is applied to a recording material carrying system provided extending from the right of a device body 100 to about the center part. Namely, this method comprises a step of using a light transmitting recording material having a light transmitting base and a thermoplastic resin toner receiving layer formed on the base which has a total light transmissivity of 80% or more at 25 deg.C and a total light transmissivity of 30% or less at 140 deg.C, and forming a detection mark on this light transmitting recording material by heating. It also comprises a step of detecting the detection mark by detecting means and also a step of forming an image on the light transmitting recording material. According to this structure, the light transmitting recording material can be judged only when required, and the position can be detected in carrying. |
