PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a navigation system for providing a wide range of traffic information for navigation or its associated information without any type-of- equipment dependency by easily and inexpensively modifying an application program required for processing the alteration and addition of the traffic information, etc., even when the traffic information, etc., is changed. SOLUTION: For a navigation system which is provided with an information processor 1 and a display 2 mounted on a traveling body and displays traffic information on the display 2, the format of the traffic information, its associated information, etc., inputted to the processor 1 is unified among different types of equipment. An application program for processing information of the unified format is loaded by using a intermediate code which is commonly used among different types of equipment. The system is also provided with a means which reads the intermediate code and converts the code into the application program peculiar to its own kind of equipment and another means which partially replaces and adds the application program of the intermediate code through an information medium. |
