PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the stage controllability of a microscope for performing automatic focussing by moving a stage in the horizontal and vertical planes, and adjusting the stage position so as to set the image on a sample on the stage by using a computer at the focusing state. SOLUTION: A video camera 40 is used so that an image is sampled, electronic data are transmitted to a frame grab card 42 of a computer 12, the data are processed and the display of the live video image of the sample is generated. The software stored in the computer 12 can overlap the graphical images on the image of the sample. A marker indicates the position on the sample stage of the microscope diaphragm and s used for moving the stage to a different position without using a joy stick 19. When a mouse pointer is dragged to the proximity of the marker, a sample stage 52 is moved to the pointer position, which is repositioned by a stage controlling electronic circuit 50. |
