A first parallelogram is formed by a pair of link arms (6a, 6b) pivotably secured at opposite ends to first and second connector pieces (7, 8). The first connector piece (7) is joined to the tabletop (2), whilst the second connector piece (8) is joined to a fixed stand (3) by at least two supports (5a, 5b) that allow the second connector piece to be moved horizontally relative to the stand. A link (9) between the link arms and the stand causes the second connector piece to be moved in a horizontal direction relative to the stand during pivoting of the link arms, this movement being equal to and in the opposite direction to the horizontal movement in relation to the second connector piece caused by pivoting the second connector piece. |
