PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation apparatus in which there is no fear that a driver fails to hear route guidance information by a method wherein, when a possibility that the route guidance information is generated is low is detected during a route guidance operation, information from other media is selected preferentially. SOLUTION: A voice instruction by an operator from a microphone 7 is input to a navigation controller 17. A navigation screen, a screen for operation of various inputs, the vehicle speed of a vehicle or an air-conditioning setting state is displayed on a liquid-crystal display 8. The navigation controller 17 retrieves a route up to a destination, designated by the operator, on the basis of position information from a global positioning system (GPS) antenna 11 and on the basis of map information from a CD-ROM 19, it performs a guidance operation by an output from a display 8 and by an output from a loudspeaker 6, and it displays 8 a VICS signal and/or a beacon signal via an FM tuner 16 and a beacon receiver 18. Then, information which is based on an importance is selected on the basis of the relationship between the order of priority of information itself and a running condition which is independent of information. |
