Compositions and methods for their use are provided for separation of complex protein mixtures by reversed-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography are provided. The techniques employed are designed to optimize separation of proteins by the use of conditions which favor partial protein denaturation both as a sample pretreatment and during the separation. The methods and compositions may be used as a stand-alone technique, or as one phase of a multi-dimensional separation system. |
