Cofferdam for use in dental practice

The cofferdam has a cover component (2) and a fixture device (3). The fixture device has a holding unit (4-7,11-16), which is connected to the cover component and is fixed relative to the cover component. The holding unit fits in the mouth on both sides of a row of teeth and rests on the gums to isolate the teeth and gums. An adhesive area (8,18) is arranged in the area of the holding units. Two of the holding units (4,5) are plastically deformable and two (6,7) are elastically deformable. The holding units are arranged around an opening (9,20) in the cover component. The holding units may incorporate two arc components (11-14) located one inside the other and spaced apart. The components may also consist of similarly arranged ring components. The fixture device also includes plastics clips which can be softly fitted over the teeth.
