PURPOSE:To attain effective utilization of satellite power by avoiding consecutive transmission of a signal during a period when the state is in the operating state of one terminal equipment fixed such as a busy state or a holding period. CONSTITUTION:The earth station consists of a line controller 10, a terminal station equipment 2 provided with a multiplex section and a modulator- demodulator section and a transmitter-receiver 3 provided with an antenna and a power amplifier section. When the state is in the operating state where one terminal equipment is fixed, a signal comprising state identification information is sent to a satellite line only part of the period and no signal is sent at all in the other period. Thus, the communication satellite applies relaying for the part of the period only when the signal is sent among the setting periods in the operating state being the fixed state and applies no relaying at all during the other periods. Thus, the power consumption is reduced and the effective utilization of the limited satellite power is attained. |
