<p>PURPOSE:To form the subject device into a thin type by providing a reel unit bearing mechanism to enable a tape cassette to withdraw from its horizontally moving locus and positioning the reel unit into a withdrawal position at the time of horizontally moving and into a recording and reproducing position during descending or ascending movement and under the state of loading a tape cassette. CONSTITUTION:The reel unit 23 equipped with a supply reel 9 and a take-up reel 11, etc., is constituted in such a manner that the reel unit 23 can be withdrawn from the horizontally moving locus of the tape cassette 3 by the bearing mechanism 25. Then, when a cassette holder 4 is horizontally moved, an operation mechanism is operated to withdraw the bearing mechanism 25 for bearing the reel unit 23 from the horizontally moving locus of the tape cassette 3, and upon ascending or descending of the cassette holder 4, and under the state of loading the tape cassette 3 into the reel unit 23, the reel unit 23 is restored to the recording and reproducing position. By this method, the thickness of the device can be thinned by the height dimension of withdrawal operation of the reel unit 23.</p> |
