SEALED ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR

A seal member (20) for sealing around conductors (30) which enter cavities (12) in an electrical connector housing (10) comprises a flange (22) and a plurality of plugs (24) extending axially from one side of the flange. The seal member (20) is formed as a unitary body. The seal member (20) has a plurality of openings (26) which extend through the flange (22) and through respective ones of the plugs (24) to permit insertion of the conductors (30) through the openings (26) and into the cavities (12). Each of the openings (26) extends into the flange (22) from a side opposite the plug side. Each of the openings (26) has a narrow portion (52) which extends through the flange (22) with a cross-sectional dimension that is less than a cross-sectional dimension of a respective conductor (30), a flared portion (54) which extends from the narrow portion with an increasing cross-sectional dimension, and an end portion (56) remote from the flange (22) which has a cross-sectional dimension that is approximately the same as the cross-sectional dimension of its respective conductor (30).
