PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To numerically and objectively judge the degree of activity of water. SOLUTION: An anode plate 4 is inserted into A chamber of an electrolytic bath 1 consisting of two chambers separated by an electrolytic diaphragm 2, while a cathode plate 5 is inserted into B chamber, and water 3 to be measured is filled into A, B chambers, respectively. The poles each are energized with a fixed current from a DC power source 7 through a timer 6 for a specified time. Then, after the water 3 to be measured is sufficiently agitated, the hydrogen ion concentration of water is detected by a detector 10. The detected values are taken out by a concentration-difference indicating device 11 and the values are regarded as the activity of the water. |
