<p>Phenazine 5-oxide derivatives represented by general formula (I) and salts thereof, wherein X represents O, NH, etc.; R?1 and R2¿ are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, hydroxy, alkoxy, aryloxy, aralkyloxy, halogeno, nitro, alkylcarbonyl, arylcarbonyl, aralkylcarbonyl, etc.; and R3 represents hydrogen, alkyl, etc., provided that when R1 is hydrogen, R2 is neither hydrogen nor halogeno. The phenazine 5-oxide derivatives and salts thereof function to inhibit glutamic acid toxicity.</p> |
