The valve has a Laval nozzle (1), an axially movable valve needle (4), which fits in the Laval nozzle, and an inlet chamber (3), which receives the foot (2) of the needle. A radial inlet aperture (11) leads to the foot of the needle. The inlet chamber is axially separated from the entry plane (13) of the Laval nozzle by an intermediately located flow channel (14). This channel is bounded on one side by the valve needle and on the other side by a valve casing (12), which guides the valve needle axially. The flow channel may have a section (14a) on the inlet chamber side which is of smaller through cross-section than the flow channel section (14b) on the nozzle side.
