The wind power system has a horizontal and vertical arrangement. The horizontal arrangement is especially suitable for large systems and for current generation for electrically driven vehicles using the cross-wind. The wind pump is made up of a shaft on which two wheels are mounted. Several vanes are provided between the wheels. The number and size of the vanes is dependent on the diameter of the wheels. The length of the vanes is dependent on the distance between the wheels and the shaft. Guide slits are aligned to receive the vanes in the outer diameter region of the wheels. These slits hold the vanes at an angle of between 20 and 40 deg to the wheel axle. The wheels are made in one piece up to a predetermined size The air flow from the wind is incident on the vanes fastened between the wheels. A multiple system is provided with a required number of pumps and with a pivot device and a roof to protect against the weather.
