Radiation protection chair for areas exposed to high radiation levels

In work-places with potentially high exposure to radiation, e.g. where interventional radiography is carried out, a radiation protection chair is provided with a transparent, radiation-absorbing shield, forming a unit with the chair. Preferably, the shield consists of an organic material with high radiation absorbency and has indentations which include arm rests. It may be adjusted in height to suit the using, particularly by an electric motor operated by a foot switch, so the sterility of the user is unaffected. Controls for the X-ray unit may be incorporated.
