Thermoplastics spinning jet

In the spinning assembly for thermoplastics, each filter layer (13) has one or more filter discs. They are compressed by the flanking jet assembly parts (14,15;14,12) to give an alternating up and down corrugation, concentric to each other. They are under a tension so that, when the molten polymer passes axially into the filter at the centre, it disperses in each filter layer (13) initially radially outwards, and then axially at an angle into the shaped free zone. After a short radial flow through the free zone, the polymer moves axially back into the filter layer (13) and then into the next free zone. The flow pattern is repeated, until the polymer emerges from the periphery of the filter structure.
