The rod (16) has an open profile (32), made of aluminium, and is closed off by an end plate. The gusset plates (38,44,46) are moulded in part to the plate (36) and rod (16) so that plates (44-46) complete a closed profile in conjunction with end plate. The profile formed by the plates tapers towards the cross strut (20), with plates (38-46) firmly joined by flanges (42), as is the end plate (38) to the profile by the flanges (34). Plates and/or cross struts are riveted to one another, as are the edges of plates and the strut. The end plate is also made of Al and is punch-riveted to the rod (16) and/or gusset plates (44,46). In addition, all connections should be bonded together in part. The strut is made of steel or as an extruded Al profile. |
