LIGHTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system which is for portable use but can also be used as a so-called security light. SOLUTION: A storage battery 1 is charged by a power supply circuit 5 which receives the power from the AC mains through a plug blade 4. An electric bulb 2 lights up with the power fed from the storage battery 1 or the power supply circuit 5. A heat ray sensor part 6 senses the heat ray emitted by a human body, while an illuminance sensor part 7 senses the ambient illuminance. Only when the sensed ambient illuminance is below the specified level, the electric bulb 2 is lighted up by a lighting control circuit 8 on the basis of the sensing output of the heat ray sensor part 6. The sensing output of the sensor part 6 is continued for a certain period of time by a timer circuit 10. This can be used as a portable lighting system with the power fed from the battery 1 and also as a fixed security light if the plug blade 4 is connected with a plug socket.
