The device (2) comprises a housing (4) with an oil separator component. This consists of a spiral (6) which has a number of windings (12). In addition, the spiral also forms additional structures for oil separation, especially in the windings. The additional structures are formed as flow ribs (8) and project into a central chamber (10) which is enclosed by the spiral. Other oil separation elements such as lamellae or meshed netting, are formed on the spiral windings, in the central chamber, or on the ribs.
