PURPOSE: To exclude drop-out by decomposing a contour into series of rook moves and setting a single picture element at the pixel position where the coincident and counter rook moves occur. CONSTITUTION: An inside contour 200 and an outside contour 210 of, for example, a character P are decomposed into series of rook moves, the number of picture elements mutually between the rook moves is set to '1' and a 1st bit map is generated. Next, the strength of each rook move respectively having strength corresponding to the total number of rook moves in a linear sequence is fixed and when that strength is higher than the values of a target picture element and a counter picture element, the value of the target picture element is set to the strength of the rook move. At the same time, the value of the counter picture element is set to '0', the pixel value more than '0' is changed into '1', a 2nd bit map is formed, and the logic sum operation of the 1st and 2nd bit maps are performed. Thus, drop-out can be excluded. |
