A bisazo dye of Formula (1) and salts thereof: in which R is H, -NHC 1-4 -alkylN(C 1-4 -alkyl) 2 or R 1 and R 2 each independently is H, optionally substituted C 1-4 -alkyl or optionally substituted aryl; R 3 is C 1-4 -alkyl; R 4 is C 1-4 -alkyl or OC 1-4 -alkyl; R 5 is H; R 6 is COOH; and n is 1,2 or 3 are useful for preparing ink jet printer inks.
