摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a titled self-traveling carriage which increases attraction force during welding and is lightweight and portable while not in welding by the constitution wherein the apparent own weight of the carriage is increased by the attraction force of an electromagnet built in the lightweight carriage provided with non-magnetic traveling wheels. CONSTITUTION:A small sized and lightweight self-traveling carriage for welding which carries a welding torch 15 held by means of a torch holder 14 and is provided with mechanisms 12, 13 for adjusting the position of the torch 15 is constituted to the own weight of <=20kg with the construction wherein four non- magnetic traveling wheels 2 made of rubber traveling onthe surface to be welded are provided to a carriage body 1 and all the wheels are driven by a motor 3. An electromagnet 7 having 2-12mm. spacing l3 from the traveling surface 16 is built in the carriage and is so constituted that the surface area of the yoke thereof is 10-50% of the floor area between the wheels 2 and that the increase in the apparent own weight by the attraction force of said magnet is >=30% when the electromagnet is placed on the surface of the material to be welded.
