The process consists in adhering a layer of ground glass onto the outside of the clay paste 3 in the green state emerging from the extrusion machine 4; embedding this glass; cutting this product to the suitable size; and, after drying, placing it in an oven where it bakes at a high temperature of approximately 1200 to 1300 degree C, at which the glass melts. The machine 1 includes a hopper 2 with ground glass, exit of which is controlled by a longitudinally striated roller 6, the glass falling onto the paste 3 which advances on a conveyor belt 5, 8, the glass adhering to the sides of the paste 3 with the aid of collateral vertical cylinders 9 with a groove. The glass adhering to the top is embedded by means of transverse idler rollers 10, 12 and that on the lateral faces with the aid of individual plates 13 which press the grains during the advance of the belt 3. <IMAGE>
