<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote slag foaming by blowing oxidizing gas into molten steel after the melt-down stage in an arc furnace refining and also, blowing carbonaceous material at the upper part from the gas blowing position. SOLUTION: At the time of forming the slag layer on the molten steel surface by melting raw material charged in the arc furnace 1, the oxidizing gas is blown into the molten steel from blowing tuyeres 3 and also, the blowing of the carbonaceous material is executed from blowing tuyeres 4 at the upper part from the gas blowing position. Oxygen blown from the blowing tuyere 3 is formed as FeO in the molten steel and floated up and allowed to react with the carbonaceous material blown from the blowing tuyeres 4 set at the vertically upper part of the blowing tuyeres 3 and formed as CO bubble and come to the slag layer, and as a result, the slag foaming is promoted. In the case of using the oxygen as the oxidizing gas, the blowing tuyere is desirable to form as a double tube structure. The arc can surely be covered with the foamed slag near the tuyere.</p> |
