PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lubricity of the taper roller bearing of a drive pinion shaft, in a differential bearing device. SOLUTION: A differential carrier 2 is made to support a drive pinion shaft 6 having a bevel pinion 6a engaged with a ring gear 5 (bevel gear) by taper roller bearings 7 and 8. A companion flange 9 is spline-coupled with the drive pinion shaft 6 and the flange 9 is fixed by a nut 10. A spacer 31 is interposed between the inner races 7a and 8a of taper roller bearings 7 and 8 and pre-load is imparted between the inner races 7a and 8a by fastening force of the nut 10 and compressive deformation of the spacer 31. A plurality of notches 33 and 34 are provided at both the ends of the spacer 31. Because lubricating oil splashed up by the revolution of the ring gear 5 lubricates the lower parts of the taper roller bearings 7 and 8 through the notches 33 and 34 of the spacer 31, lubricity is improved and a lubricating defective at the time of a low temperature starting, etc., can be prevented.
