PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a down shift to a first speed by the manual mode of a snow pattern. SOLUTION: This controller is provided with a shift mode switch means 50 selectively switching the automatic shift mode and the manual mode of an automatic transmission 10, automatic shift pattern setting means 51 preliminarily setting the shift pattern of the automatic shift mode to a plurality of shift patterns according to operation conditions, shift pattern switch means 52 selecting one of the shift patterns of the automatic shift pattern setting means, stopping state of vehicle decision means 53 deciding the stopping state of a vehicle and starting preparation means 54 performing a down shift to the lowest gear ratio when the shift mode switch means 50 selects the manual mode and the stopping state of the vehicle is decided. When the shift mode switch means 50 selects the manual mode, the down shift to the lowest gear ratio of the shift pattern set by the automatic shift pattern setting means 51 is performed. |
