PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate replacement of an ink jet cartridge by providing a first member having a member for protecting the jet port of a recording head and a cover-like second member to be engaged therewith, and arranging a fixing means to be engaged with an ink jet recorder on the second member. SOLUTION: After an ink jet cartridge 100 is contained before a case body 71a (first member) is engaged with a cover member 71b (second member) through an engaging means 79, the cover member 71b is turned around a hinge 74 in the direction (b) to be matched with the case body 71a thus bringing about a preservation state where the ink jet port 102 of the ink jet cartridge 100 is covered suitably. An ink jet recorder 10 comprises a paper discharge section 11, a paper feed section 12 and a recorder body 13 wherein a preservation case 70 is held stably when a fixing means, i.e., a fixing arm 75, provided on the cover member 71b is inserted into a groove made in the back face of the casing of the recorder body 13. |
