SHEETY OR CYCLIC ORGANOSILICON POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new simple and flexible route to a siloxane polymer having segments derived from a silicate structure from easily available starting materials which give harmless by-products. SOLUTION: A sheety or cyclic silicate is reached with an organo- hydrogenchlorosilane to form a sheety or cyclic polymer of an organosiloxane having pendant≡Si-H groups. This polymer is reacted with an alkenyl compound in the presence of a catalyst in an amount effective to catalyze the hydrosilylation reaction of the alkenyl group of the alkenyl compound with the hydrogenatd functional group of the polymer to form a sheety or cyclic organopolysiloxane polymer.
