摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a flow passage most suitable for expanding an air/safety bag by a specified amount within a specified time and to ignite propellants by breaking a closed disk with a projectile. SOLUTION: A detector transmits a signal to an initiator 46 to start a projectile 50. The projectile 50 is first passed through a closed disk 70 to open a passage between a inflator housing 34 and an air/safety bag. The projectile 50 continues to advance, lastly clashes with an operation piston 124 and then, a projecting rim 128 attached to the operation piston 124 is caused to clash with at least one of arrayed impact ignition detonator 120. Thus, an ignition/ booster agent 144 is ignited and then propellant grains 90 are ignited. During combustion of the propellant grains 90 in a gas generator housing 86, a pressurize medium 36 from the inflator housing 34 is absorbed through a suction nozzle 98 disposed in the end 96 of the gas generator housing 86 into the same. Thus, a suitable flow passage is formed and propellant ignition is performed.</p>
