The large-span supporting fin is for a missile launched from a tube, being initially coiled round the missile body so as to fit inside the tube. The fin (10) comprises two thin pre-shaped elastic sheet-metal sections (11,12), spot-welded together along their edges. Between them are partly-elastic ribs (13a,13b) of sheet-metal, and which engage on unfolding in locking apertures, so as to stabilise the fin and increase resistance to buckling.
