PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping method for ink jet head in which the nozzle surface of a head can be cleaned without scattering ink. SOLUTION: In the wiping method for an ink jet head of a ink jet recorder where ink is jetted from the ink jet head toward a member to be recorded, a resilient wiping member 32a is brought into contact with the nozzle face of an ink jet head 120a and moved along the nozzle face. Subsequently, the wiping member 32a is moved to recede from the nozzle face before the wiping operation on the nozzle face is ended. |
