EASILY DEGRADABLE RUBBER COMPOSITION FOR ACTIVATING PLANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject rubber composition capable of effectively activating plants and being easily degraded after its employment and not generating an injurious gas and an injurious substance by compounding natural rubber with the powder of a magnet and a ferrous ion-containing iron compound in a specific ratio. SOLUTION: This easily degradable rubber composition is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of natural rubber (preferably ribbed smoked sheet) with 10-2000 pts.wt., preferably 100-1000 pts.wt., of magnetic powder preferably having a particle diameter of 0.2-10μm and 0.1-15 pts.wt. of a ferrous ion- containing iron compound such as magnetite particle powder of the formula: (FeO)x .Fe2 O3 [0<(x)<=1] or an iron octylate of the formula. The obtained rubber composition enables to control its degradation time and does not require its recovering treatment or disposing treatment.
