PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable movement of a product immediately even when a gap after a core metal is removed is closed, by bonding a terminal part having a gap formed thereto under heating and pressure by both molds after the core metal end part in the longitudinal direction of a welt having a U-shaped cross section having the core metal embedded therein is removed. SOLUTION: The terminal part 4 in the longitudinal direction of a weld having a U-shaped cross section having a core metal 2 embedded therein generates a gap after the core metal end part exposed to the open air is removed. In order to close the gap, inside and outside molds 5, 6 heated, for example, to 150-190 deg.C are applied to the terminal part 4 at a predetermined position to bond the same under heating and pressure. As a result, the gap of the terminal part is closely bonded to be closed and sealed. Therefore, after a weatherstrip is extruded or molded and the terminal in the longitudinal direction thereof is cut and, after the core metal end part is removed, the terminal part 4 is immediately sealed. By this constitution, there is no problem incapable of carrying the weatherstrip before drying like a case sealed by an adhesive and work efficiency is enhanced. |
