PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for manufacturing golf balls, with which a high quality golf ball of multi-layer structure with less opening and less eccentricity of the core can be fabricated simply and certainly. SOLUTION: Besides a die for vucanized molding, a die 5 is furnished having a differently shaped cavity from the cavity of the first named die in which a pair of half-shell formed, unvulcanized outer layers are overlapped on over the other and put together into a single piece in such a way as enwrapping a vulcanized core. This die 5 is equipped with a pair of die members 4 each having a hemispherical recess 3 to be overlapped one over the other. At the internal circumferential edge of the open end of each recess 3, a taper 6 widening toward the open side gradually is furnished in the range 2.0-8.0mm from the joining surface 15. The inclining angleθof the taper 6 should range between 25 and 30 degs. |
