PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object having good appearance and an opening hole by using a preheated sheet as a raw material to press the same and forming an opening hole in the sheet simultaneously with molding without performing post-processing. SOLUTION: A pair of female and male molds having mold members for forming an opening hole are used and a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet 10 preheated to the melting temp. of a resin or higher to be set to a softened state is arranged to the cavity surface of either one of the molds and both molds are subsequently closed to perform mold clamping and, thereafter, the molded sheet is cooled to produce a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object having an opening hole. In this method, the fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded sheet 10 having the opening part corresponding to the opening hole of a molded object preliminarily provided thereto and preheated to be set to the softened state is supplied to the mold cavity surface so that the opening part of the sheet corresponds to the mold member and mold clamping is performed so as to become the thickness of the sheet while the sheet 10 is expanded to produce a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded object having the opening hole.
