Pump with external gearing for the lube oil for an internal combustion engine comprising a casing (3) provided with a housing (5) inside which are located a driving pinion (7) and driven pinion (9) with parallel axes, the said housing including an upper cylindrical wall element (11), a lower cylindrical wall element (13), a front lateral wall (15) and a rear lateral wall (17), the said cylindrical walls (11, 13) adjoining surfaces described by the ends of the teeth of the pinions (7, 9), the front lateral wall (15) being pierced with a delivery orifice (19) connected to a delivery pipeline (23), the rear lateral wall (27) being pierced with an intake orifice (21) connected to an intake pipeline (25), characterised in that at least one of the said cylindrical wall elements (11) can be adjusted as a function of the delivery pressure so as to regulate the output of oil. <IMAGE>
