LIPOSE-FORMING UV ABSORBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect hair from the damaging action of ultraviolet rays by using a liposome-forming UV absorber composed of a compound containing an element having a specific chemical structure. SOLUTION: This liposome-forming UV absorber is composed of a compound containing a UV chromophore having an absorption in the region of 285-400nm, capable of forming a bimolecular layer by itself and expressed by the formula (A1 and A2 are each a hydrophobic group; Q is a UV chromophore; W is an organic residue; Z1 and Z2 are each a hydrophilic group; (n1 ) and (n2 ) are each 0-4 excluding n1 =n2 =0; (p) is 1 or 2; (q) is 0-3; (r1 ) is 1 or 2; (r2 ) is 0 or 1; (s1 ) is 1-3). The UV chromophore Q is preferably selected from cinnamic acid esters and triazine derivatives. This liposome-forming UV absorber is used as a hair cosmetic preparation containing 0.25-5wt.% of the absorber. It has extremely high affinity to the hair and gives effective UV-protecting effect on the hair.
