PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a set lever used when a paper sheet is set. SOLUTION: A paper feeding device 1 is provided with a hopper 3 for holding a paper sheet 2, and a paper feeding roller 4 for delivering the paper sheets 2; and the hopper 3 has a bottom surface part 7: for supporting the paper sheet 2 in a condition where the lower end of the paper sheet 2 is struck against the bottom surface part 7, and a side surface part 8: for supporting the paper sheet 2 in a condition where the surface of the paper sheet 2 is touched to the side surface part 8. The bottom surface part 7 forms an angle ofθ1 to a horizontal direction, and the lower end of the accumulated paper sheets 2 is moved in the paper feeding roller 4 direction by the deadweight of the paper sheet 2. The side surface part 8 forms an angleθ2 of a degree where the paper sheet 2 is slippedly fallen by deadweight.
