NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formulas I and II. EXAMPLE:13beta,28-Epoxyolean-11-ene-3beta,16 beta,23-triol-3-0-(2,6-0-diacetyl)-B-D- glucopyranosyl-(1 3)-beta-D-fucopyranoside. USE:A Na<+>-K<+> ATPase inhibitor. Useful for treating cardiac failures and atrial arrhythmia. PREPARATION:Bupleurum falcatum L. is extracted with a solvent such as hexane, and the solvent is subsequently removed from the extraction solution. The extracted product is distributed with water and n-hexane, chloroform or water-saturated n-butanol to give an n-butanol extract. The extract is heated to >=100 deg.C under a dry condition and subjected to a column chromatography using hexane, etc., as an extraction solvent. |
