<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress flutter while maintaining a rigid feeling of steering satisfactorily by controlling intermittence of an intermittent means on the basis of a detected steering state. SOLUTION: A weight, a vibration reducing means, rotatably fitted to a housing 11 through a bearing 51 is rigidly fixed to a driven shaft 40. The weight 50 is therefore rotated integrally with the driven shaft 40, and at the time of rectilinear travel, the output values of both a steering torque sensor and a steering angle sensor become almost zero. An ECU puts electromagnetic clutch mechanism 33 on when the output values of both sensors are almost zero. An armature 37 and a rotor 41 therefore adhere closely to each other, and a pinion gear 32 and the weight 50 are put in a direct-coupled state so as to reduce vibration of steering caused by the unbalance or the like of tires, that is, to reduce rotational amplitude and angular velocity of flutter while maintaining a desirable rigid feeling during rectilinear travel.</p> |
