In the inventive system for suggesting depth within a two-dimensional image display on a screen (2), component images/frames within an overall display are, when displayed sequentially, presented in shifted relationship with respect to one another. The relative shifted distance for every pixel (9, 10) is adjusted according to the desired depth in a static image, and with respect to any possible movement in dynamic images. The pixel matrix manipulation may be carried out by hardware or software implementation, and may include matrix cutting, retention, elongation, rotation, transposition, translation or reflection. Light-transmitting optical apparatus (3), having a relief structure, eg. of prismatic/pyramidic section similar to a Fresnel lens (6, 7, 8), is interposed between the display screen and the view's eyes, left (L) and right (R).
