<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent heavy metal and oil from being eluted in underground water by adding to and mixing with the site produced soil a prescribed wt.% of quick lime to soil and a prescribed wt.% of sodium silicate to the quick lime and injecting a prescribed wt.% of water to the soil to the mixed system, causing hydration reaction to make silicate from heavy metal contained in the site produced soil. SOLUTION: 50-100wt.% of quick lime to soil and 5-10wt.% of sodium silicate to quick lime are added and fully mixed to site produced soil while being agitated. Thereafter, 40wt.% of water to soil is injected in the mixed system. Hydration reaction of quick lime is caused, temperature of the whole mixed system is increased, its viscosity is lowered to increase fluidity, mixing of the soil and the treating agent proceeds to produce calcium hydroxide. The calcium hydroxide reacts with sodium silicate to produce calcium silicate, which is water-insoluble white deposition. Heavy metal in the site produced soil becomes heavy metal ions, and reacts with sodium silicate to produce silicate to produce deposition.</p> |
