PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer utilizable as a device capable of being inspected beforehand in low cost within a short time and a proofreading sheet having a predetermined shape by moving the front end part of the proofreading sheet into a guide passage from an insertion port in such a state that the position to a sheet material feed apparatus is accurately kept. SOLUTION: When a proofreading sheet is successively fed to the printing head of a printer 10 to be printed so as to prevent that the image printed on the proofreading sheet becomes an error-containing image even if not error is present in image data before conversion, it is desirable that the proofreading sheet is always accurately positioned with respect to the printing head without being twisted and slackened. The printer 10 can always accurately position the proofreading sheet with respect to printing head when the proofreading sheet is successively sent to the printing head to be printed by using the proofreading sheet exclusive to the printer 10.
